Location: Normandie Farm, De Doorns

We were put in the summer house where tables were set up for our equipment and ovens.  We had a perfect view of the bedouin tent which was set up in the most majestic of gardens. When the ‘I do’s’ were done and dusted the guests gathered out in the open where they enjoyed champagne and canapés.  While we were sending the platters out we had a few guests coming in to the summer house to take photo’s and compliment us on the flavours and presentation. After the main course was served, Lynn (bride) came rushing over to Nick and gave him a monsterous hug.  I think she was pretty pleased with the food!!

 

Canapes:

  • Red thai prawn curry in espresso cups
  • Sesame crusted salmon with wasabi mayo and soy sauce
  • Walnut and camembert puffs topped with plum chutney
  • Mini pancakes stuffed with spinach, feta, sundried tomatoes and olives
  • Sate chicken skewers with peanut dipping sauce

Starter:

  • Savoury crumpet topped with smoked salmon, chive crème fraiche and herb salad

Mains

  • Fillet of beef with parmesan and cream potato bake, roast vegetable stack and caramelized onion and red wine sauce
